Free Images Cornwall Pictures Pictures from around the County of Cornwall, which is located at the far South Western tip of England. One of the great attractions of Cornwall for photographers and walkers alike, is the continious coastal path.
This makes gaining access to the wonderfull cliffs and beaches much easier than it is in most of the rest of the UK. Cornwall is also famous for it’s golden sandy beaches, which attract a large number of holiday makers in the peak Summer months. This makes travel around the roads of Cornwall in July and August a little difficult. It’s for this reason, and more interesting weather, that I try and visit in Spring and/or early Autumn (May or September).
The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are both great places for a family day out.
Be warned though, Eden gets very busy at peak holiday times. The best time to visit is probably in the Spring – lots of flowers coming into bloom and far less crowded. The North Cornish coast has wonderful golden beaches interspersed with dramatic cliffs and bays, all warmed by the winderflly clear waters Gulf Stream and often pounded by waves from the Atlantic Ocean.
Also on the North coast are the villages of Padstow and St Ives. The harbour area of Padstow is very pretty and is becoming famous for it’s seafood restuarants. St Ives is a haven for artists and photgraphers alike. It has mostly managed to avoid becoming too touristy and has retained an historic look.
